EVENT DECORATIONS – why are they necessary?

PMUX7259

Hey loves!!!! Guess who is back……..ME (covers face). I know I haven’t been the best BFF but I promise to do better. πŸ˜€

Alright! We are talking about event styling today, commonly known as decorations. One cannot deny the fact that decor plays a vital role when it comes to events. No matter the size or kind of event, people always inculcate some elements of decor to beautify the event, sort of. A lot of elements come to play when decorating an event. Some of which are flowers, lighting, centerpieces, balloons, chairs covers, table linens, candles, fabrics, etc.

Aside decorations being one of the most noticeable attractions of the day, they serve a lot of purposes such as –

  • setting the ambiance, humor and mood of the event.
  • accentuating a venue and giving it the unique look fit for that occasion.
  • throwing more light on the purpose of an event.
  • telling the stature of guests that will be coming for the event.
  • themed events are executed with the use of perfect decor.
  • underscoring the importance of the event.

The impact and influence of proper decorations cannot be underestimated hence a lot of attention and planning must be put into it. Make sure you communicate the details of the decor you want with the decorator so he/she would know how best to put the various elements together to give you the beautiful look you have always dreamed of.

THINGS TO DO BEFORE PUTTING ON YOUR WEDDING GOWN

3E2A3164

Hello loves, it is your favorite wedding planner here πŸ™‚ I am back with another helpful tip as your get ready to say ‘I DO’.

Alright! So the moment you have been dreaming of has finally arrived – yes, it is your wedding day! And it is time to put on that gorgeous gown and walk down the aisle. But hey, you don’t need to rush it. It is a special moment! You need to make sure everything is absolutely perfect.

My dear soon-to-be-Mrs, please take note of the following before you put on your gown:

  • Get your makeup done – makeup can easily stain especially the powders and runny liquids, and you certainly don’t want it on your wedding gown. Get your makeup done first to avoid stains on that beautiful gown.
  • Wash your hands – it is best to wash your hands before touching the gown. There might be some dirt on your hands especially after going through the makeup process so please wash your hands. You do not want to be the bride that stained her wedding gown.
  • Eat and Drink – make sure you eat and drink before the gown goes on: especially if plan on having a meal with color. Once the gown goes on, stick to clear liquids just so you are ‘safe’ in case of any spillage.
  • Visit the bathroom – trust me; between dress up, taking photos, the ceremony itself and greeting guests, you cannot be sure when you can catch a break to visit the bathroom. And oh, visiting the bathroom in that big fluffy gown is going to be really hard. Please Please visit the bathroom first.
  • Put on the right undergarments- it is important to get the right undergarments to pair with your gown. Find out what works best with your type of gown so you can be confident and well supported.
  • Wear your shoes – no matter the type of gown you choose, know that you would have to step into it when wearing. Hence it is best to have your shoes on before stepping into the gown. This gets you ready quicker. You have to get someone to help you when wearing the gown to avoid stepping on the gown and falling3E2A3177

We know these tips would be very helpful and useful on your wedding day. Keep them in mind and at heart and be that gorgeous bride you were destined to be! XO XO

CHOOSING A COLOUR SCHEME FOR YOUR WEDDING!

Hello guys!!! 😬

I encountered a few brides-to-be and while chatting with them the topic of “Colour Scheme” popped up. To my surprise, some of them had little or no idea about the topic. All I got was “well, I hadn’t thought of that” or “Mmm, any colour is fine” or “Which colour do you think is best?

WHOA!!! 😱😳

Choosing a Colour Scheme for your wedding is an essential part of wedding planning, as the colours chosen will be used to style the event; design invitations and other stationery; design outfits for the Bridal Party; just to mention a few…

Today, I am going to highlight a few things to consider when choosing a colour scheme for your weddings and other events as well.

Here we go:-

*Choose your favourite colour and shade: Your wedding is for and about you!! Hence it is best to choose a colour scheme that you love. Your favourite colour and the shade you love is always to best way to go. πŸ˜€

*Choose colours that will complement the setting of your venue: You need to consider the setting of your venue when choosing a colour scheme. Choose colours that match with the venue’s setting. You dont want your colours clashing with the painting, carpeting etc of the venue.

*Mood for the wedding: Think of the mood you want to set for your wedding and choose colours that put you in that mood. Colours are used to represent emotions as well.

*Discuss colours with your partner: In as much as the wedding is about you, donot forget it is about your partner too. Hence it is only right that you both discuss the colours to be used. Remember, two heads are better than one…

* Choose colours that will be appealing and flattering to wear: Consider the fact that your Bridal Party, friends, family may clad in the colours you choose. You should therefore choose colours that are appealing and flattering to wear; suit various body types etc.

*Incase you are unsure what colours to pick, do well check out the colour wheel for inspiration.

Pick your wedding colours right, I hope this post helps. 😊😊

WEDDING SHOE MISTAKES TO AVOID…

I was reading around the other day and I chanced upon this interesting piece of information – wedding shoe mistakes most brides make! WHOA! Such a thing exists?

Well, I was intrigued by what I learnt and decided to share with you guys. You’re welcome. πŸ™‚

th (1)

  • Choosing the wrong shoes

Dear to-be-bride, the first thing you should think of when shopping for your wedding shoes is your COMFORT. Choose shoes that you will be very comfortable in. Don’t forget that your wedding day is supposed to be a fun and happy day with lots of dancing, walking, standing etc.Β  If you are not a high heel person, please do not force yourself. You can opt for lower heels, ballet shoes, flats, sneakers, hell, whatever makes you feel comfortable. But if your dream is to wear heels, choose a height you are used to wearing. No need to impress anyone. You don’t want to the bride that hobbles or trips on her way down the aisle.Β  Happy feet = happy bride they say.

  • Not breaking your shoes in before the big day

Once you buy the perfect pair for your wedding, break them in (wear them enough so it feels comfortable). Walk in the shoes regularly to ensure that they will be comfortable to wear on the wedding day. Yeah you don’t want to damage them before the wedding….but it wouldn’t hurt to wear them around the house for short periods of time. This will save you from getting blisters or even wobbling in the shoes on the best day of your life.

  • Getting shoes you can/will never wear again

When shopping for wedding shoes, choose one that can be worn again. It will be very bad to get that glamorous shoe, wear it for the wedding and watch it waste away because you cannot wear it for any other occasion. We mostly think wedding shoes must be white, satin, sparkly – lovely though but not obligatory! (who even made such a rule?) Honey, tell me where else you can wear such shoes to? Certainly not to work. Feel free to go in for colorful shoes if you are not feeling ”traditional”; such shoes get bonus points for being re-wearable after the wedding. Gold, Nude, Red, Blue, Ivory….you can try these colors and be the glamorous goddess you’ve always dreamed to be!

th (5)th (6)th (8)th (7)

  • Not budgeting for wedding shoes

Everything that will be used for your wedding must be budgeted for. It is rather unfortunate that somethings are overlooked – wedding shoes is one of them. Know this, wedding shoes are downright expensive and can be a big blow to buy without considering how its cost can affect your wedding budget.

  • Forgetting to get a spare pair of shoes

It is very necessary to get a spare pair of shoes for your wedding day – back up! Keep in mind that anything can happen that day; heels can break, shoes could rip, your feet might hurt, or you may want a lower heel for dancing. Throw a bridal sandal or flip flop into your bridal bag in case the needs arises for a shoe change.

Note that picking the right shoes for your wedding is an essential part ofΒ  bridal preparation. Although your shoes should showcase your style, don’t forget you must also be comfortable in order to enjoy the best day of your life!

WHY MUST I HIRE AN EVENT PLANNER?

”WhyΒ should I hire someone to plan my event? Can’t I do it myself?”

The statement / question above is commonly used in our part of the world. This is because the Event Management industry is not as functional as it is in the western world. However, we are gradually grasping this whole event management thingy and I must say we are getting there. Yhup, We are. GRADUALLY!Β  *inserts dance emoji*

Today’s post is aimed at giving you guys a few reasons why it is best to hire an Event Planner(Manager) for your events…

HERE WE GO!

th (1)

  • EXPERIENCE

Trying new things is great but not when it comes to organizing an event. Experience goes a looooong way in making an event run smoothly. Event Planners know how to take your wishes and demands to heart while making the necessary adjustments. They listen carefully to your needs, provide input and are realistic when appropriate.

  • BUDGETING

A planner generally knows what costs to expect while planning an event. With this knowledge, we can help keep track of the overall price; allocate funds correctly and suggests ways that can help you stay within the set budget.

  • VENDOR NEGOTIATIONS

Planners know the right vendorsΒ  that will provide quality service needed to make your event a success. They also serve as negotiators when it comes to contracts with these vendors and make sure you work within your budget. Planners know how to make sure your wishes are met……and are not afraid to put pressure on vendors in order to get the work done.

  • STRESS REDUCTION & TIME SAVING

Every detail concerning events need to be covered and trust me, this is stressful and time consuming. It can be so tiring….talking from experience. It is best to hire a professional to take care of all these. We are here to troubleshoot difficulties and make sure your event goes off without a hitch. We take time to research and work with you to get everything done before and during the event. Hire a planner, get some sleep, spend time with loved ones and let the planner do the worrying for you. πŸ˜€

  • SUPERIOR ORGANIZATION

The organizational skills of event planners are superb! We make sure everything is done accordingly. From production timelines to booking of vendors on time to coordination of events, our management is quite useful. We tend to be detail-oriented and see to it that nothing is left out.

There’s actually no need to worry and stress about organizing that event when there are many event planners at your disposal! We are available for you, use us okay, and you will be glad you did. πŸ˜‰
